It was another example of why the Brockville Tikis are optimistic about their chances as the CCHL2 season progresses.

Colin Stacey had a hat trick to help lead the Tikis to a 4-1 win against Winchester at the Brockville Memorial Centre on Wednesday night. Stacey opened the scoring with his 11thgoal of the season about five minutes into the first period. Colby Schroeder tied the game midway through the period.

Brockville captain Ryan Glazer scored what would prove to the game-winner late in the second period; it was his sixth goal of the year. Stacey’s second goal of the night was a power-play marker about four minutes into the final period. He added a short-hander with just over two minutes left in regulation to make it a hat trick and give the home team a three-goal lead.

The Hawks outshot the Tikis 32-23. Brayden Kelso made 31 saves for Brockville and was named first star of the game.

“That’s four real good games for him,” said Tikis head coach Jason Hawkins, who noted that Kelso has been the starter since the previous Wednesday. “We just hope he can keep that going.”
