It was a good night between the pipes for Brayden Kelso.

The Brockville goaltender made 37 saves in the Tikis’ 4-1 win against Perth at the Memorial Centre on Wednesday. The victory moved Brockville ahead of the Blue Wings and into third place in the CCHL2’s Richardson Division standings.

The game was scoreless until late in the second period, when Tyler Toomey scored on a power play 25 seconds before intermission. It was his seventh goal of the season. Vincent Huot-Orellana’s third goal of the year gave the home team a 2-0 lead at 7:35 of the third. Perth’s Payton Jardine cut the lead in half about five minutes later, but Marcus Arabe’s power-play goal at 15:15 restored the two-goal margin. His second goal of the night was an empty-netter with 1:49 left in regulation. Arabe now has 10 goals on the season.

Perth outshot Brockville 21-8 in the final period and 38-22 in the game. Kelso, Arabe and Jardine were named first, second and third stars respectively. Attendance at the Memorial Centre was 98.

Brockville (11-7-1-1) is now one point up on fourth-place Perth (10-8-3) and five points in back of second-place Westport (14-5-1). The Tikis travels to Arnprior to take on the Packers (7-12) tonight.

In other CCHL2 action on Friday, Westport will play in Renfrew (10-4-0-2).
